Larry Grover and his mother Gloria talked to Phil about the government shutdown and how it now affects the payment of a "death gratuity" to the families of soldiers killed in Afghanistan. Larry feels that in order to help the Tea Party keep the government shutdown and bring Obama to his senses these families need to suck it up a little longer.
Tonight's show also featured Vernon Dozier and Joe Dickhead discussing fan interference in a play during the Detroit-Oakland ALDS playoff game. (Link below) Vernon talked about being taunted by a fan during his days playing college basketball and in fact had a tape recording of a dramatization of the incident. Father James McQuarters weighed in on the "Redskins" name issue, saying that the name "Fighting Irish" doesn't bother him, an Irishman, as long as they don't get to personal about the drinking thing.
