Episode #148: The New Phil Hendrie Show

The show started with a fishing show called “On The Water” or “Out In The Wild Blue” (the guys couldn’t remember) hosted by Bill Hassinger and Kip Pernell. Phil and Margaret argued about what belongs in the Filth File when it came up that the fishing show may be a regular part of the Phil Hendrie Show so that people can “feel the spray in their faces.” Margaret felt “spray in their faces” was an immediate entrant. Phil disagreed. The crew again told Phil that his physical mannerisms while speaking on the air imitated a muscular or neurological disorder and could be disturbing to PhilTV viewers. Frank Grey was eating breakfast at Mrs Olsen’s and talking to Phil about a new soap opera he’s producing called “The Dull and the Dry” about a post-menopausal community of seniors. Phil and the crew discussed some housekeeping issues with the General taking up space in the refrigerator for his cottage cheese.

Episode #149: The New Phil Hendrie Show

Bobbie Dooley and her husband Steve had to scramble and do some image repair after they bought into the whole “KFC Throws Scarred Child Out Of Restaurant” story and led protests against KFC only to find out the whole thing was a hoax. Steve Dooley mentioned having to smoke medical marijuana because he gets “sweat itch” from his well-muscled thigh brushes against his testicles and Mr. Dooley said his “hang pretty low.” General Shaw went into a whole description of how to kill a pit bull with your bare hands. Not to be missed. Margaret talked about the first time the Delmonico saw a Disney mascot at the Magic Kingdom. “One of the mascots danced up to him and scared hell out of him.” She couldn’t describe to Phil what it was, “it was one of those things that comes hopping up and it did a dance and it didn’t speak.” Jack Armstrong and Larry Grover debated the Gary Oldman story. Mr. Oldman made statements to Playboy magazine that some took to be anti-Jewish. Grover and Armstrong went at it in another typically uninformative and childish debate.

Episode #150: The New Phil Hendrie Show

It was Phil and the crew commenting on today’s USA-Germany World Cup match with Jeff Dowdder and Coach Vernon Dozier in Brazil. Dowdder and Dozier were at a carnival tent near the stadium, sitting with “knowledgeable soccer fans, not a bunch of imbeciles like ninety percent of these Americans.” They also asked for permission to burn their per diem up on beer since it’s blazing hot down there and Phil gave his consent, much to Margaret’s dismay. Coach Dozier also commented on the fact that he was in a part of the world where “women’s asses are grade A, the soccer fans know their shit and I’m far away from you people.” Don’t forget to get your tickets now for Phil’s historic one man show The World of Phil Hendrie: Truth Is Our Bitch, July 30, the Hollywood Improv…

Episode #151: The New Phil Hendrie Show

On today’s show Phil talked with the crew about his Catholic upbringing. Coach Dozier and Jeff Dowdder attempted to give their final World Cup report, but mostly talked about their balled up airline reservations. General Shaw talked about his family. His older brother Gene was a 1percent biker and the next oldest brother, Charles, was a wealthy salesman… The General also got into the specifics of his brother Gene’s death. We won’t go into it. Just listen. But it did have to do with flipping off a five year and running into a telephone pole…among other things… Don’t forget to get your tickets now for Phil’s historic one man show The World of Phil Hendrie: Truth Is Our Bitch, July 30, the Hollywood Improv…

Episode #152: The New Phil Hendrie Show

The show began with Phil carving up a news story about the missing Detroit boy Charles Bothuell. While airing a bizarre and emotional clip from the Nancy Grace Show, Phil suddenly realized he had no background for the story. The crew began actively berating Phil and a near staff revolt had Phil offering to step outside with Bud and Robert, one at a time, and beat their asses. Ted Bell came on and bet Phil $10,000 that there is a real Chief Wahoo and not just a cartoon character mascot for the Cleveland Indians… Phil also recapped the Drunk History party last night in Glendale…

Episode #153: The New Phil Hendrie Show

Phil is under the weather today, so we’ve got some “Best Of” clips on the podcast today. Skippy and Frank started the show with their 4th of July Special, by sticking an M80 up Skippy’s ass. Chris Norton then joined us with his “Blast of Love” bit. He wants to break the world record and have sex with 168 women consecutively…to commemorate the Oklahoma City bombing. Steve Bosell wrapped up the show to discuss his 4th of July the prior year. Steve saw “Platoon” and “Saving Private Ryan” before a fireworks show and it scared him until he crapped his pants. He’s trying to get post-traumatic workers comp.

Episode #155: The New Phil Hendrie Show

On today’s show, General Shaw had to “walk it off” early (basically he got pissed at something Phil said and walked away from the studio) and in the process needed to shift his penis from one side to the other. Larry Grover and Chris Norton traded observations on Americas’s new sexual conservatism, Larry talking about the cleansers he keeps handy and Chris Norton on his irresistability. Vernon Dozier, talking about Hurricane Arthur, remembered spitting at Hurricane Katrina as he was driving out of New Orleans and telling it to “kiss my ass.” During the BSP pre-show, Phil gave away an opportunity to be in the drawing for a VIP package to Phil’s July 30th one-man show to KingKapp from Carson City, Nevada. He was the next caller after SeventhStranger incorrectly guessed that Phil was not wearing pants. Phil was, in fact, wearing pants…

Episode #156: The New Phil Hendrie Show

Phil and the panel talked about the Anthony Cumia situation. Professor Emory Clayton came on the show and accused Phil of racism for dancing an Irish jig while leaving the studio one day. “I’ve got an entire filing cabinet devoted to you, Hendrie.” Frank Grey was also going to weigh in but was preoccupied with the production of a new film, “The Jack Hochman Story,” a movie about a woman who dressed and passed as a man to better her station in life. At the time Phil spoke with Frank, he was working with the sound of crickets because “the woman’s life was so dull we have a steady feed of cricket sounds throughout.” Frank hung up on Phil after saying the crickets had arrived that morning at Union Station and Phil asked if they had much luggage…

Episode #157: The New Phil Hendrie Show

The show started with Margaret’s usual opposition to the music Phil plays on the show but General Shaw said that when he hears deathcore metal it shows him there are still things worth fighting against… David G. Hall commented on what Opie can do now that he is no longer teamed with Anthony, including staying with Anthony and moving the whole show to the digital platform… Jay Santos of the Citizens Auxiliary Police discussed new TSA rules regarding phone and laptops with dead batteries. Jay also was contending with “L’s Palsy,” a condition whereby you swallow your L’s to the point of strangling.
